Best relaxer system around

Best relaxer system around and probably the "healthiest" but make sure you really know what you're doing. Ive been using it for over 10yrs and my first few attempts (not at a salon but doing it myself) I didn't get the intended results. All the straightening is in the SMOOTHING process. I leave mine on about 20min, and if you don't apply in 5-8min and spend the remainder of the time properly smoothing the hair, you'll get shiny bouncy under-processed light waves. This is a PROFESSIONAL product, meaning it's only intended to be sold to those with a cosmetology license, so its assumed you know how to smooth the hair so certain harsh chemicals aren't added. Also remember, with this product you relax the hair, shampoo with 5-in-1 reconstructor and/or postitive link (to add the moisture/proteins while the shaft is still open), THEN use normalizing shampoo. You DO NOT normalize prior to the resconstructor. THEN follow up with a regular shampoo, i prefer keracare hydrating shamp & humecto conditioner. My natural hair is 4c/3b combo and every stylist says its thick like 4ppl head

shiny, smooth, silky hair that everyone thinks is a weave =). In 10yrs its never broken off or gotten crazy damaged/brittle/felt dry, etc. sensitive/dry scalp vs doesnt equal lower strength like some other brandsCons:
purchasing all the products required to make this a complete system can be pricey, but its still cheaper than $85 every 6weeks, smells bad but what relaxer doesn't, silicones in the required reconstructing products seem to add to my dry scalp issues =/Jimmika

I was so hoping it would straighten my granddaughters hair but didn't do to much to it. I purchased all the products that go with the relaxer thinking it would do the trick but was very disappointed after I spent around $100 for all the items.

This is my fav and only relaxer. I have a very sensitive scalp and other relaxers would leave it burned or just iritated. Not this it relaxes like a dream without damage or overdrying. A great buy.

I originally ordered the other affirm relaxer product with the white cap and got this one by accident but it was too late tryi send back as I had clients already scheduled. I used this product with great hesitancy and much prayer. I absolutely love the finished look. My clients hair was gorgeous so soft and bouncy and healthy. The shine was great not too much and I just couldn't stop telling her how much her hair looked great as if I had forgotten I did it. This product is awesome!

When I purchased this product my hair was dry and damaged. After using it my hair is softer than it had ever been before. More managble and finally not dry. I got my first Avlon Affirm relaxer 3 years ago. My hair was silky, shiny, and more manageable. My current stylist stopped using it and started using Mizani relaxers and treatments. My hair has not been the same since. Mizani may be for others, but not for me. I am so glad to see Affirm is available on your website. Let me tell you a short funny story. I bought a whole kit of Mizani products including their regular rhelaxer which is what I've always used...but for the past few times, either due to lack of technique (of my last stylist) or just the strength-i would get just a few isolated scalp burns around my edges. Even with the protective gel...but it never did that with my Dominicanas in manhattan so I brought my Mizani with me last weekend and she was like let's try something else..and I see her take out this Affirm Sensitive Scalp relaxer and I am telling you that it is the SHIT!

No Burns! Did I mention no burns? Not over-processed. And if your salon doesn't carry it like mine-it is worth every damn penny!Cons:

Affirm is by far the best relaxer you will ever use. I love it! I am biracial and have kinky thick hair. This relaxer is a godsend. I ran out of it and went back to the OTC boxed version. That was a big mistake. My hair was so terrible. I will never use anything but Affirm again. Don't waste your time and money on anything else.

This relaxer is great....probably the best I have ever used on my hair (medium with sensitive scalp). Apply it with the steps indicated in the directions and I get perfect healthy looking hair every time. Straight without combing through but hair has lots of movement!

This hands down the best relaxer system I have ever used on my hair. I have course to medium textured hair. This relaxer breaks down my hair fast enough so that it does not damage and it does not burn my scalp at all. It also has a very lite to no smell at all. After using this relaxer you will never go back to using any over the counter junk with the pretty girl on the box again.
