Goldwell Elumen is a high-performance, oxdiant-free haircolor. Creates extra vibrant, shiny, and durable haircolor without damage. Does no contain peroxide or ammonia. The compact range of Elumen consists of 22 shades plus one clear tone. Every shade can be used to achieve fascinating color results on various tone levels. This alone gives you a choice of 113 color varieties – without mixing!

Size: 6.7 oz

One of the most exciting new technological developments in professional hair color is the new Goldwell Elumen. Now, there's more to share. Elumen is the first oxidant-free durable hair color that works without peroxide or ammonia. Using a purely physical process, Elumen's brilliant, direct-acting, negatively-charged color dyes are drawn deep inside the positively-charged hair shaft and held, as if by a magnet. But there's truly no fear, no commitment. With Elumen Return, the hair colorist can remove the hair color immediately and gently with no damage simply by reversing the magnetic charge.

With Elumen, Goldwell has developed an innovative high performance hair color - Elumen dyes the hair permanently, but without oxidation, ammonia, or alkalinity. The result? Beautifully, radiant hair color without any damage to the hair. Elumen also repairs the hair's structure. The hair-color smoothes porous and damaged sections not only on the surface, but also inside the hair shaft to provide a healthy, smooth surface that reflects light and gives the color in the hair unprecedented shine.

Multiple shades. Elumen's 22 shades plus Clear gives you the ability to create an unlimited variety of colors. And, thanks to the unique color card, you can guarantee results without fear. As part of your creative palette, Elumen works great for low-lights/tintbacks, multi-shading, toning and color balancing. Because it improves the hair's structure to revitalize stressed and damaged hair, leaving it with long-lasting, brilliant, healthy, shine, it's the ultimate shine service.

What's more, Elumen repairs hair, smoothing porous and damaged sections not only on the surface, but deep inside the hair shaft, providing a healthy, smooth surface that reflects light brilliantly. Elumen's new technology offers many "firsts," giving you a truly new story about hair color. Deborah Gavin, the creative colorist from High Tech Hair Studio and Spa in Philadelphia and the spokesperson for Goldwell's Elumen, is a great new source on Elumen, new color trends and technologies, and caring for colored hair at home.

Long Lasting
August 28, 2014
I was told this would last 3 months, and it really did. I applied the lock and was very happy with the results of using this. Until trying this I never experienced dye that lasted long enough to where you could see the roots growing in. Remained vibrant and purple. Even when it did started to fade it was still very purple.

Nice Blue
August 28, 2014
I was a bit slow to go blue, but I was very happy with the tone of the blue is here even before mixing. Its a very deep blue, if you are mixing it with any other similar darker color such as purple, you loose the nice blue and its more of a toning effect.

Amazing Colors & Vibrancy
July 29, 2014
I didn't believe the colorist when she said the color would last 3 months, but it has. My hair has grown out faster than it could fade which is great. Super vibrant colors like no other dye, and with a great shine to it.
Pros:
Long Lasting Ammonia Free Vibrant Gentle Many Colors Salon Quality

Love some of the colors
July 14, 2014
I've only used the Goldwell line for bright, unnatural colors (PK, VV, and TQ) and have had pretty good results. The PK and TQ are both fantastic and last much longer than any other brightly colored dye I've ever used. They also have minimal bleeding, which is a huge plus for me. I found the VV (purple) color faded out much faster than the other two, but that if I mixed PK and TQ to make my own shade of purple it lasted much longer.
Pros:
long-lasting minimal bleeding
Cons:
seems to dry my hair out a bit

Terrible
May 4, 2014
Had the hair dresser apply the color Bg@6. It did not change my medium brown hair at all. Total loss of time and money with no results. Now I do not know if I can apply a regular oxidant color to my hair. I had no idea that after the use of Elumen an oxidant color may not work. Elumen did not make that very simple fact known. I would stay away from this product.
Pros:
No mixing
Cons:
Cannot use oxidant color after usage.

Very nice for a glaze
March 31, 2014
Tired of permanent colors and the drying effects of peroxide, I decided to try Elumen. The brown color was rich and full of color, bright, and glossy. When used with prepare, something that is a must if your hair is already colored to equal the porosity, it becomes a even gorgeous beautiful color. It lasted for about 7 weeks with minimal fade ( using lock). After nearly 6 months of using it was difficult to remove. Very difficult.
Pros:
Beautiful glossy color.
Cons:
Horrible and hard to remove.

not for constant use
March 17, 2014
I have fine bleached hair and I need usually to reduce yellow hue on my hair. I used AB9 and after that I received shine hair with nice beige color without to much yellow. I was impressed! But after 4-5 times of coloring (one time in 1-1,5 month) my hair steel look as "glass" and began to break down. My hairdresser explained that Elumen can not be used constantly or your hair will be oversaturated with Elumen components and will ruined.

February 25, 2014
I've been using Goldwell Elumen for several years now and absolutely love the results. This time I bought it for my mom, she was worried about her hair getting thinner and I love Elumen for what it does to the quality of the hair, more than for it's color. It makes hair fuller, thicker and healthy-looking.

Elumen diluent or just hair glaze
December 1, 2013
Elumen Clear is one of my favorite products for hair. I use it either to dilute Elumen GB@9 to get less color over my 10 level blond base, or just Clear by itself, like a hair glaze. If you have ever used Elumen you know how silky your hair becomes after this coloring. Here you have same glazing treatment but without any color. I tried different hair glazes (Sebastian, John Frieda etc). This one is the best, mostly because you get same effect much faster and without heating. Just apply Clear over your dry or towel damped hair, wait for 20-30 min and wash. That's it - hair is silky and shiny like never before!
Pros:
helps to dilute Elumen colors works as a great hair glaze by itself silky shiny hair in 30 min

Hair color with no damage to your hair
December 1, 2013
I am in love with Goldwell Elumen since first try. It's a rescue for my damaged bleached hair. The dye penetrates hair and creates sort of glaze on the hair surface. It is like laminating. My hair is dry and porous because of continuous coloring. Elumen makes my hair silky again and gives more natural color. I have 9-10 level blond hair and use Elumen GB@9 for over-lightened parts and Elumen Clear for other parts to even the color of the hair. When you chose the color of Elumen, especially natural colors, be aware that color form the chart is what will appear only if you have very light almost white base. Darker base, even 9 or 10 level blond, will give you much darker final appearance. I will recommend dilute the actual Elumen color with Clear 1:1 for the first try.
Pros:
vibrant color does not need developer makes damaged hair silky again

October 2, 2013
Goldwell elumen haircolor is an excellent product that leaves me with a nice, natural look for 4 to 6 weeks. More important, it does not cause the scalp or skin allergic reaction that I used to suffer with other brands. This product has solved my problem. I am very happy with it.

RV is lovely
August 3, 2013
I use RV over my dark brown hair and it covers beautifully. It even covers my greys well.
Pros:
Happy, healthy hair. Great coverage. Color doesn't fade. I get compliments on my purple hair all the time.
Cons:
Takes longer than traditional dyes. My linoleum now has purple spots that nothing can remove. I always manage to stain the heck out of my scalp. There is a lot of color bleeding, so there are purple spots on all my pillows, towels, etc.

BR 6
December 11, 2012
I was very pleased with the product. We had to be careful to keep the product off the skin, because it does stain. The stain of the skin lasted through about 3 shampoos. The color was very attractive, and I have received many compliments on it.
Pros:
Good clear reddish brown color. Good gray coverage. Very natural result.
Cons:
It does stain the skin, but if you are very careful to keep it off the face, etc., it wasn't bad.

Amazing product...
December 1, 2012
This looks great over my dark brown hair that has a fair amount of grey sprinkled in. On the dark hair, it shows more of a purple glow, but it looks vibrant purple over the greys. I look like I have purple highlights and I have gotten so many complements. It sticks very well even to my greys and hasn't washed out at all, provided I followed these steps: Shampooed twice with Elumen Wash. Dried hair complete, then covered with Prepare. Dried hair completely again. Applied Elumen RV @ ALL, and heated under a hair dryer (I bought a little hood attachement) for 45 minutes to an hour. Then removed stains on skin with Clean, and rinsed the dye out. Used Lock on my hair and then rinsed again, conditioning with my regular conditioner.
Pros:
The color is vibrant and permanent, even on my grey hairs. Permanent purple hair dye is impossible to find, this stuff rocks.
Cons:
There are a lot of steps. It is messy and almost impossible to remove from my linoleum.

By Customer Service on March 13, 2014

Answer:
This haircolor will need to be applied after applying PREP to allow the cuticle to open and deposit this Elumen Haircolor. It is to be left on for 20 minutes with heat or 30 (without heat). Rinsed with WASH and then LOCK will need to be applied on Towel-Dry (damp) Hair.

Answer:
Elumen does not cover gray hair. It gives only transparent shade, shine and add of colors play.
For gray hair you'll need a permanent color.

Hi,
I am trying to decide whether to use Goldwell Elumen or Goldwell Colorance Express Toning Dev. and Colorance Demi Color.
Can you tell me the difference?
I think they are both deposit only color.
I will be using this on my hair to achieve darker color.
I currently use only the demi color to darken my hair from level 7 Red to a level 6BK.
I want to get a little bit of yellow/gold tones out and add a bit of rich brown to my hair.
By mladosich from ontario,ca on December 25, 2012

Answer:
elumen is deposit only but it is permanent
colorance is our demi perm, color
express toning is for after highlights to tone hair, a 5 minute process, does not darken hair.
By MAIIA from San Jose, CA on December 4, 2013

Answer:
Elumen gives a very transparent color, only a slight tinge. Make hair darker it will not, only add luster and play of colors .

How to you apply goldwell elumen clear? How long do you leave it on your head?
By MAIIA from San Jose, CA on January 31, 2014

Answer:
To use Elumen:
1. Wash and dry your hair (without conditioner or mask)
2. Apply Elumen to dry hair with help of the nozzle directly from the bottle.
Be careful not to touch the scalp (this is not harmful , but hard to wash off).
For short hair enough 60ml of Elumen, for medium - 80, for long hair - 100-120 ml.
3. Wait. Time - 30 minutes (with add of heating of 20). Do not cover your hair.
4. Wash your hair off with water in the gloves and with shampoo twice (better special shampoo Elumen).
5. Dry your hair with towel.
6. Put The Elumen Lock exactly for 5 minutes (no more - no less! ) - it is enough for about 40 ml.
7. Rinse with water (without shampoo).
8. Put mask - better Elumen mask.

my salon has been putting a colorless glaze on my grey hair to give it shine. I would like to do this at home and want to know if your product in the colorless has any yellow tones?

By MAIIA from San Jose, CA on December 3, 2013

Answer:
The shade "clear" does not contain color pigments and gives only shine. If you want to neutralize the existing yellow tones, you can use the shade AB9 or AB6 or others in depend of your hairs level.

By Ilan from Isr on September 16, 2012
Hello, I'm usually dye my hair with 7.1
What will be suitable for me with the Goldwell Elumen? can I mix the AB@6 with AB@9?
thanks,
Ilan
By mladosich from ontario,ca on December 25, 2012

Answer:
yes you may mix those 2 together
By MAIIA from San Jose, CA on December 4, 2013

Answer:
Elumen colors are not mixed as usually color (permanent or demi-permanent).
Every color of Elumen gives shade on part of hair, where it was applied.
AB9 is not visible on dark hair, it will give to hair only shine.

By Roxane from Canada, Quebec on September 7, 2014
You have errors on your colors descriptions.

Exemples:
gn@all you say that's natural gold (but in reality, it's green).
kk@all you say that's copper (but its orange)

Hi Doris, Goldwell Elumen High-Performance Haircolor is a great product. It colors your hair while leaving it softer and more manageable. Try NB@4 color or Clear for Shine.
By Sarah from Toronto, On on December 1, 2011

Answer:
Goldwell Elumen will dye dark hair, but the colour will not be the same as if you were to bleach your hair first. I bleached my hair and then used Elumen, this turned my hair a very pink/red/purple colour (what I was going for). After a few months I desided to do a touch up. I put the Elumen over my already died hair and my dark brown roots, my roots turned a dark red colour. Depending on the look you are going for you may want to bleach your hair first.
By Linda from Toluca Lake, CA on December 2, 2011

Answer:
Hi Doris, If you want to stay natural brown than NB4 is great. It is Natural Brown with (4) very good coverage. The NB5 is dark. I have natural brown hair with a hint of gray at the sides and a little on top. I will with a brush cover the gray with NB4 and then use BG6 for the rest of my hair. B is for Brown and G is Gold. This covers well but I do need to touch up every month! Now the CLEAR is great! It tones down (for a lack of better words) any color and add outstanding shine. A lot of women just use CLEAR to shine up their hair. You will need LOCK. Start with clean/dry hair. Add color and either add heat for 20 minutes or just let it set for 30 minutes. Next step is rinse your hair in warm hair until it runs clear. buya small bottle of the Elumen shampoo. You can wash it once or twice. Then rinse well. Towel hair your hair. LOCK - need a timer close to you. With your head over the sink add a fair amount of LOCK - comb it htough. Set timer for 5 minutes. I cheat a little set the timer and pour the lock on a comb through. ONLY and only 5 minutes then rinse well. Towel dry and add the CARE. The CARE product adds shine and let the comb go thought nicely. WARNING - you will not be able to highlight your hair after using this product. The highlights turn orange. This is a safe product. My head would blister with any regular hair dye. Also if the NB4 goes a little red - add AB6. I use Wen shampoo but when I color I find using the Elumen shampoo the best bet. Also prepare your area for coloring. This color is messy. I put plastic on the floor. Also - your towels. use a white towel after shampooing daily to jsut dry your hair. Your colored towels will streak with this hair color. Good Luck. If I can be of any more help just ask!

Answer:
Elumen will not lighten your hair but it will darken it and enrich the color. It will cover some grey (probably about 20% or so) but not a lot of grey. It washes out quickly, but applying heat will make it stay longer. The line is supposedly known for its reds because they are usually a hard color for hair to keep. it is not damaging compared to color that contains peroxide and the acid helps smooth the hair and keeps it looking nicer. It has an odd smell but overall it is a great product provided you aren't interested in lightening your hair.

Answer:
If you want to add shine to the hair, shimmering colors, you can use Elumen. If you want to radically change the color, you need a permanent color (as Topchik).

i need instruction how to use it and also color chart to select the color
By MAIIA from San Jose, CA on December 4, 2013
