Amazing covers white roots on black stright hair
I hold strands of hair tight straight up and dab the brush w the color on white roots as close to scalp but never touching the scalp. Squeeze the cream color til you can see it ooze on bristle, then I dab the bristle on the sink to to distribute color on the brush, It last until you wash it out.
ProsMy hair is bone straight black and it covers the white streaks very well. A few practice use gets easier.
ConsDo not dab it against scalp it will stain. Not for large areas, great on side temple and crown where hair parts

I like it, but takes some time to learn to apply
Have tried the sprays and the mascara type, but this is the best. One thing you must be careful not to do is to use too much. Squeeze out just a small amount into the brush and then work it around the brush before you apply to your hair. The first time I used it, had the same problems as others described, but then figured out that a little goes a long way and if you use just a little, it will dry on your hair without being gloppy.

Nooo
I hate when there is anything left on my skin after a regular hair color,so i was hoping i could use this great brand in between salon visits...OMG it does leave marks as if i was in the middle of dying my hair,it leaves stains, it might cover the greys but id rather walk around with grey hair than color spots on my scalp...returning it!!!

Never again
This product is thick and not easy to use; also, it looks really bad on my hair. I have been trying to find something for my grey roots, but this is not it.
ProsNone that I encountered
ConsThick and the color is not correct. I had to wash this out of my hair after I put it on.

I can't decide whether to purchase the light brown or the dark brown. Does this run true to color or is it darker. Most products of this type tends to run dark.
I am a dark blond and went with the light brown shade. It is perfect...I think the blond would have been too light for my hair. So in answer to your question I'd say the Alterna Sylist 2 Minute Root Touch-up runs true to color.

Do you apply it after shampooing, then rinse out and then blow dry and you are set until next shampoo??
You apply the product after your has is dry. I would not recommend this product. I used it for the first time yesterday. It goes on thick and leaves your hair sticky. It takes a long time to dry. When you try to comb it through, it cruds up your comb/brush. I can't wait to wash it out. I usually use the marker type of root touch-up but wanted to try something new. I think I will go back to the markers or try the sprays. I usually don't leave negative reviews but this product needs to be reformulated.
