Terrible!
If you are nostalgic for the 1980's home bleach job look, well okay you might like this stuff. For me, that look is one that really didn't want to relive and the end result looked terrible! Where it goes wrong is it makes it sound like the product has the toner/color in it. It really doesn't or if it does, it doesn't give you a professional looking finish. In the past I had used their lightening cream in conjunction with a higher number processor and something like an 11 color and it turned out perfect. I suggest doing that instead. I am a fan of using it as a cream style product when mixing over the powder but that's it.

Don't buy
Alright this place sent me two expired sets of RO. Had to return the rancid, over ten years old tube. Look at the comparison in this product purchased from a legitimate company (this is the usable tube I kept, but should have also shipped back). No yellowing on the packaging from the competition. The safety foil on sleekhair's Chi High lift was also missing. Customer service was very snippy after emailing me a return label to print. "you could have told us you don't have a printer". First of all you don't tell the customer what they should have done! Buying elsewhere, I don't expect my money returned after I ship the spoiled product back. On the bottom is a tube of what this product should look like.
ProsWorks when not rancid and expired.
ConsExpired old product. Had to buy elsewhere.

made my hair greenish
I've had hairstylists use High lifts in my hair before successfully and I've lightened my hair with bleach in the past, but be warned, this product turned my hair slightly green. I think it is because of the toner in the cream. My hair did go from a dark blonde to a light blonde, but again, with a greenish tone that will not come out. Almost like a highlighter color. And I followed the directions! Recommend doing a test area first in your hair, I did two in different spots of my hair to check and thankfully, not all of it. I am pretty upset about the waste of money and crappy hair. I'm sure it works for some people but this is a warning to others

7 Levels of Lift!!
I'm a natural level 4 brunette (medium-dark), level 10 blonde via heavy salon highlights. I used this on my virgin hair to match my roots and lengths, but did not precisely follow the directions. Rather than apply heat (this product is an ammonia free highlift/bleach combo) I mixed it with 30-vol and processed for 30 minutes. It came out a perfect cool level 10, no damage that I can tell! Heat may be necessary when you're doing application to the lengths, but the warmth from my head sufficed for root application. So very, very pleased to have finally found a bleach alternative. I ordered the cool and beige blonde. I used a violet toning shampoo on the CB (the shade I used this time because I expected to need to neutralize more orange than yellow). Next time, I will just use the beige because the lift is so clean!! Oh, and this product smells amazing.
ProsLifts very cleanly no damage smells fantastic

Expired /frozen or over heated
Upon opening the vials of hair dye the 3 I used appeared to be different colours . The colours varied soo much they looked like different products . They texture of all of them were different as well ( ie runny, dry and chunky). We checked the sku's and they were all The same . Not sure what happened but I'm sorely disappointed in this product and would not recommend it at all. Even have used it before and it was nothing like this ... :-(

great
This is a great high lift. If you are doing allover I'd say go for cool blonde but for root touchups beige blonde is better because the cb almost has a built in toner that can get on existing blonde and turn it blue...just like the tiny bit of overlap or next to it. I guess you could mix the two for a great result also.

Great product
As a professional I have used this in my salon until the owner decided to stop carrying it. Now I use this with my at home clients. Makes life simpler so you do not have to do a double process. The reds are VERY vibrant. This is not a color I would recommend using for regular color. Highlights/lowlights only. This probably be an off-scalp type of color since it lifts so high. All the at home users keep complaining it did not say what it says it does. It in fact does EXACTLY what its supposed to, you are using it wrong. Just because you've used box dye in the past does not mean you are good at doing color. This is chemistry. Mixing of different solutions, its technical thats why we went to school. Leave it to the pro's.
ProsGreat rich color Does not puff foils/spread Even color
ConsA bit messy/drippy

love it
i am a hair stylist and I love this product it does what it says... if you read the instructions it says it is recommended for high lights, but you can use it as a full color application starting 1/8 of an inch off the scalp with up to 20 developer, and up to 15 minutes with heat and no heat about 30 - 45 minutes no heat. I f you want lighter do high lights using up to 40 developer ,only using the color generator that goes with it, using any other can cause other problems have done that and it just doesn't give you the results you want. You should never use a 30 or 40 developer on the scalp with this product or bleach. I have been a hairstylist for 28 1/2 years and an instructor for 4 years. Always read and follow instructions carefully.. I love this product if you have black and want to get to platinum for on the scalp you might have to do it 3 times but applying a protective cream on the scalp or use sweet &low, I advise a protective cream because it will dry your scalp.. make sure hair is in good condition before use.. they also have a shampoos and treatments for this product to bring the hair back to its normal ph balance or use a neutralizing or normalizing shampoo for color treated hair.

will this lift color? currently I am a 3A( Colored) natural between a 4-5 and want to get to the 6b - my hair pulls very red what would be the best way to achieve this - with the least amount of damage as possible? can I use the infra high lift with a 30 volume with light ash brown and do an all over lighten? or would I need to bleach and then go back over it with a 10 developer and the 6b? is that to much processing to do in 1 day? Thanks

No. If your hair was already colored to right level, you should not use permanent color again - it is a murder of hair. You will need a non-permanent color with acidic pH like Colorance Goldwell.

Is this the color you mix with 20 vol. developer?
Any high lift hair color would be used like bleach and would require you use a 40 vol developer. Any hair color as the Farouk Chi hair color would need you to pick its pertaining 10, 20, of 30 vol developer, really depending on the state of your hair. We would like to consult with you over the phone. Please contact us at 1.800.921.4813 during business hours Mon - Fri from 8am - 3:30 pm PST.

No. It is a high-lift color, you can use 40 vol developer for it. If you don't need a hight lift, you can choose other CHI color product.

40vol is almost never necessary unless you have extremely black coarse hair. It's an extremely bad idea for customer service to be advising a volume that high not knowing your hair.

I have a client weve been using infra RV ..LlOVE it ! But I'm having a problem lately of it not depositing vibrant color....washes out to a pale version of the normally BRIGHT RV...Can't figure out what's the problem....any suggestions? Keeping it at 10 or less for optimum lift and deposit use to look Fabulous last 3 times its been Dissapointing to say the least!
If you keep applying the infra high lift over the previously lifted ends you are going to blow the cuticle and the color will not grab. Chi make a no-lift color that corresponds with the high lift color. You need to apply the no-lift with a 10 volume developer to refresh the ends and use the high-lift on the new growth.

So I'm considering buying one of the Browns listed here and due to the lack of information I found, had a few questions: 1. If I have black hair and want to dye it brown, would I use the No Light or High Lift? I couldn't really tell the difference. I want to dye my hair a brown but light enough where it can't be done with plain color and I don't want to use bleach (so this is where this product comes in?) 2. Also, it says you have to mix it with 20vol of something, what is that and does it come with this product or is it just the tube or color? 3. And also, from the Chocolate brown to Ash brown, which has the least amount of red tint in it? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

You would need to use the high lift; the no lift only deposits color and won't make anything lighter. Ash brown would be more cool toned/less warm. You would need to separately buy the developer. This item is only the tube of color. In this case you mix 1:1 so depending on how much hair you have, you should have more than enough. This tube is 4 oz plus 4 oz of developer=8 oz. Depending on how much lift you need you maybe would want to use 30v instead depending on the texture of your hair. Fine hair lightens easier than coarse.

Hi - Can you tell me if this color comes with the color generator as pictured in the photo or do I need to buy that in addition to the color?
The colour generator must be purchased separately. There are four strengths: 10vol, 20vol, 30vol and 40vol depending in how many levels of lift you are trying to achieve.

What chi infra high lift cream colors are more blonde than cool blond?
Yes! Chi does exactly what it says it will do and it does a great job! My hair was silky smooth as ever before and the color was amazing. I would like to warn you though, if you are starting to use Chi - stick with it and don't try to color your hair with anything else... at least not without a professional help because Chi attracts blue tones and no matter what color your will try to use - your hair will keep turning blue... Just a warning.

How does one decide between the High Lift Cool blonde product by Chi and their Blondest Blonde product? I can't tell from the limited literature how to compare them. Hopefully someone here does. Thanks
Chi High Lift color lifts and tones at the same time, while Chi Blondest Blonde is a lightener so all its doing is lifting color out of the hair. There is no toning action involved in the Chi Blondest Blonde. The high lift line pretty much eliminates the need for a double process application because it does both simultaneously.

Chi High Lift color makes hair lighten and gives most intense color deposits or complete tonal control in a single step. Blondest Blonde serie is a bleached products that only lighten without tone.
