What it is:
DevaCurl No-Poo - Zero Lather Conditioning Cleanser is a gentle rescue for frizzy, unmanageable curls. Cleans and conditions very dry, damaged hair and scalp. Devacurl No-poo Shampoo provides a refreshing scent of peppermint and Turkish rose.

What it does:
Devacurl is an advanced hair care rescue system that respects hair's natural tendency to curl or wave. Devacurl is the only haircare line that treats the scalp and the hair separately. As a Gentle 100% sulfate-free cleanser, it is great for all hair types.

What else you need to know:
Rejuvenating and balancing, Devacurl is gentle enough for color treated and permed hair. Each product has it's own unique ingredients that enhance the overall quality of dehydrated hair.

Aqueous Extracts of: Achilea Millefolium, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria), Cymbopogon Schoenanthus, Humulus Lupulus (Hops), Melissa Offcinalis (Balm Mint), Rosmarinus Offcinalis (Rosemary), Isopropyl Palmitate, Cetyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Chloride, Laureth-4, Grape Seed Oil, Peppermint Oil, Propylene Glycol, Wheat Amino Acids, Soy Amino Acids, Oat Amino Acids, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben, Menthol, Fragrance.
  • Wet hair thoroughly. Evenly distribute a palm-full of No-Poo between both hands and distribute to hair and scalp. Use circular massaging motions to eliminate dirt and product residue. If hair is dehydrated, apply DevaCurl One Condition to ends before shampooing.
  • Gently comb through hair with fingers and rinse. For total "curl recovery", follow up with One Condition. Do not disturb with brushes and combs.
  • Style with B'Leave-In, AnGell and Set It Free. For a curl refreshment try Mist-er Right.

Was not very impress with this product. Added to the frizz that I already have. Going back to my regular shampoo, J Beverly Hills.

    Love this product
I have very dry curly hair and this shampoo is perfect for my type of hair. It has very little lather but lots of conditioning. When I rinse it out my hair feel soft and sleek, unlike other shampoos that leave my hair feeling wirery and dry. I also use a lot of hairspray and it cleans it all out. Makes my scalp feel nice too. I would definitely suggest this product to girls with dry curly hair. Its worth the investment.

Used it for four years now
I have natural curly, dry hair. I no longer "shampoo" my hair. I cleanse my hair with this sulfate free product twice a week. On the odd occasion where i use a shampoo...my hair feels funny. I always go back to this cleanser. Does not foam. Not supposed to foam. Get away from the foam iMO of course.
ConsWish it were a wee bit cheaper :)

    Great on fine, straight hair!
I have fine straight hair, but it's dry and damaged from coloring leading frizziness. My stylist recommended this brand when we were discussing cleansing conditioners. I absolutely love it. The cleansing condition works wonderfully on my hair, leaving it manageable with lots of body. I follow with the One Condition, which is perfect. With this product I have to use much less than other shampoos, plus I don't have to wash everyday. This is my favorite cleanser during the winter months, but I switch to Deva Care No-Poo in summer.
ProsLots of body and manageability. Plenty of moisture. Easy to use. Don't need to switch products as often as others.
ConsAdjustment period. May occasionally use traditional style shampoo for a deeper clean.

I received this as a sample so I only used it once but I really liked it. I used it on a day my air was quite dry and it was super gentle and cleansed adding moisture.

is this the only product you need? Is it both shampoo and conditioner?
No. It replaces shampoo. Still need conditioner. It is a great product; you will love it.

No, this product works as an alternative to shampoo to cleanse your hair. You still need a conditioner -- I like the DevaCurl One Condition. I have naturally wavy/curly hair and have been using both of these products for about eight months and have been very please with the results.

It is meant as a two in one product, but I found that I liked it better as just a conditioner. My hair and scalp are very oily though; so it might not be the same for someone with normal to dry hair and scalp.

This is just a shampoo. You would need DevaCurl one condition - http://www.sleekhair.com/10502.html

I use the separate conditioner in addition. My hair is fine, very curly, and tends toward frizziness. I find that the combination of the shampoo and separate conditioner do the trick and don't weigh my hair down.

It can be used alone. However, for maximum hydration, I follow the shampoo with the DevaCurl One Condition.

I definitely need conditioner. But it may depend on the type of hair you have. My hair is on the dry side, so extra conditioning is needed. And, I never appreciated the results of this product until I was forced to use regular shampoo for a short time. That's when I noticed the drying effect of regular shampoo vs. DevaCurl.

It's only shampoo, but it does leave hair very soft. It's best to use both the DevaCurl shampoo and conditioner as a set, but sometimes if I just have store bought conditioner the shampoo still works great.

Yes I tend to use both products together. Although there are many times i just use the conditioner as I don't wash my hair more than 3 times a week. Great products!

You need both the cleanser and the conditioner. I have been using Deva Curl products for almost a year now and love all the products I have tried! I use the cleanser about every other day (because that is what my stylist recommended) and I use the conditioner every day! I also use the curling cream. My curls are much more manageable now and I get a lot of compliments on my hair!

Maybe. Most of the time when I used No-poo I didn't need to use a conditioner (the No-poo is really a co-wash). But there would be the odd time that my ends felt a bit dry after rinsing, on those times I would use a conditioner (Heaven in Hair). So I know it's not the answer you want, but it depends on your hair (how dry it is, texture) and environmental factors (has your hair just been dyed, is your home dry...). But I do think it is a good co-wash, keep in mind it does have glycerin and for some curly girls glycerin doesn't help your curls in winter.

No, you will need the Deva One Conditioner to go along with the Deva No-Poo. These two products work nicely together to enhance your natural curl while reducing frizz.

It is a great shampoo that leaves your hair soft and tangle-free. So, you don't absolutely need the conditioner. However, I follow-up with the DevaCurl One Condition. If you want to lock in the curls I use the AnGel. I've tried the other DevaCurl products and they are nice, however these 3 products are a must. I've tried a lot of products for curly/frizzy hair and never was satisfied or confident enough to wear my hair curly (I always blow-dried). However, now I'll never go back to blow drying. The products are great.

This shampoo costs soo much more than the ones at my local african-american beauty supply stores or the black products at sallys. Is it worth the extra price? I've been looking for a good shampoo for my curly hair!
I'm not black, but my hair is very curly and dry. My Stylist recommended DevaCurl . It's much better than anything else I've tried. Although it's expensive, you only have to use a small amount ,so it lasts longer.

This is THE only shampoo I will use!! IT is SO worth it! I have course, wavy, highlighted and fairly dry hair. Even without conditioner my hair feels instantly softer after washing with this product. If you make sure to wet your hair throughly it goes along way as well - this helps you get used to the fact that there is no lather with this shampoo. It actually feels like conditioner going on as it really cleans your scalp and conditions your hair. I have used and recommended this product for years and will not use anything else!! Get it - you won't regret it!

I'm not african-american. I'm swedish, blonde, and fair, but my hair is crazy curly and until DevaCurl products, was unmanagable. Yes, the product is expensive. But not more expensive than other quality products. Sure, I could use Suave, but I'd hate my hair. I'm very happy with DevaCurl No-Poo. If it ever goes away, I'm screwed/

The reason it is more than the shampoos at Sally's is because it is a good shampoo. The reason I love this shampoo is because it provided moisture to my hair and scalp. Most shampoos give me dry and itchy scalp but this shampoo soothed it. I also use less conditioner since it was so moisturizing
