Mixed feelings about EXO formula
I have been using the Option 1 for years now, and have had excellent results. Nice curl. I decided since my hair was longer and had leftover Option 1 curl on the ends to use the EXO option this time. It isn't like I hate it, but the curl is all over the place. Definitely true to size curls, but very dry. I never had this problem with the Option 1 as my hair usually felt better after the perm then before it. Now I have had to condition just to get a pick through it. I have course straight hair and usually have trouble having a perm stay, but this one won't relax!!!! I one thing about it was there was absolutely no odor whatsoever. I think I will stick to Option 1 from now on.
ProsNo odor whatsoever.
ConsVery dry and curls are super curly not relaxed curls like Option1

I stopped using perms about 5-6 years ago and went natural..however I always used the Iso Option 2 because at the time I highlighted my hair blonde and had very good results. I have one perm left and want to perm again. I do not highlight my hair now, but do color it an auburn color using the Wella 5rg with 10 volumn base. Will this perm still be good since it has never been opened? And will it damage my red hair?

I had a perm that was ISO but I am not sure which one. I have fine hair. I get a very tight curls using blue rollers. Since my hair tends to relax quickly after the perm, I have them leave it in a long time. The ISO solution came with a pretreatment that Prevented my hair from getting dry and brittle. Which one was it? It was the best perm I received in 50 years.

Should a conditioner be put on an ISO perm #2 the same day it was given? I had a hairdresser do this and was surprised. I thought the liquid in the box that is applied before wrapping serves as a conditioner of sort.

Which one is best for gray hair that is coming in wild and frizzy and that is treated with non-permanent hair color?
Iso Option 3 works best if your hair is not taking to the perm as well. It holds a tighter curl. I don't know about frizzy hair, but definitely on gray hair. Either Option 2 or 3 works on hair that is treated with non-permanent hair color. I put a rinse on my white hair and it comes out when I perm it, but I just rinse it back in after the perm.

Does it have fragrance in it?
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh it's been 3 mos. Ha. Yes, I think it has some odor but nothing overwhelming. It's better than some perms I've used. The reason I keep buying them is that they work. Otherwise I'd just go to WalMart and get one for lots cheaper than buying this one online. I usually use the Option 2. I just ordered another option for colored hair because I put color on my hair for the first time recently. Hope it works as good as Option 2.

After having an Iso 2 perm how long afterdo you have to wait before shampooing your hair and is it a good idea to colour and perm the same day ? Thanks
I wait at least 24 hours, or a bit longer before shampooing. And regarding coloring, my hair is very healthy so I give it at least 1 week before coloring. I think if your hair is on the dry side, it would be best to wait 2 weeks. ISO is the only perm I would ever use on my hair. It comes out perfect every time.

It's a good idea and will allow the perm to 'set' and last longer if you wait at least 24 hours, and if possible, 48. I always leave mine alone as long as possible and my perms last & last. As for color, if it's deposit only (no developer), I'd wait the same amount of time, for the same reason. Color with a developer, probably a week if you want the best results.

I have usually waited two days to shampoo, I have already done it at one day if it is bothering me. No, I would not have colored hair and permed hair the same day, as a hairdresser we were trained to perm and then wait at least a week if not two until coloring the hair. I would want the hair shampooed at least three times before doing a color. This is also the best perm I ever had. My hair is almost in better condition after it is permed then before, which is unheard of with perms of the past.

2 weeks ago I got a perm using Option 2 perm using peach rods. I have long hair, previously highlighted. The perm didn't take well, hardly any curl now. Am I safe to reperm it?
The answer is no, especially she previously highlighted her hair. She will have to wait at least three months to perm her hair again and it will help if she use the next size down on the rods.

My hair is my natural color and the hair dresser made a mistake a gave me a perm for colored hair I want to know if this will damage my hair and will the perm last just as long etc...
I have colored hair and have used both perms for colored and not colored and had very good results with both. This is the best perm on the market. It does not damage the hair and last a long time.

I started using this perm before I needed color, a natural red head and continue now that I use color. This perm is fantastic either way. It lasts until cuts remove it. Have never had typical dryness or damage that can come with perms. Works well rolling for tight curl or large rods for curve and body. Have been using over more than five years.

I have Exo #4. Under Neutralize, what does "Note: If desired, air-oxidize for 5-10 minutes" mean?
It means to remove anything covering you hair, such as the plastic bonnet that comes with the perm, so that your hair is maximally exposed to room oxygen.
