Use it.
2x's per week for about 1 year yields a noticeable difference.
Prosit lasts longer than you'd think.

A good product
I have used the Nioxin Hair Booster for a number of years along their conditioner and shampoo. I'm 68 years old and still have a decent head of hair. Not as much as when I was younger but still pretty good for someone my age. I have to believe that using these Nioxin products has helped.

Like it
I've been using Nioxin Intensive Therapy Follicle Hair Booster for 2 weeks and have seen a slight improvement. I know it's too early, but I am going to give it a try and see if it is efficient for my case. My hair loss is intensive and noticeable and I think it is going to take some time to notice some growth.
ProsThe reviews are very good. So, I hope it works for me.
ConsI rub it on my scalp in the morning and in the evening and since I don't wash my hair every day, looks like the products builds up and a kind of scaling appears around the roots. Expensive. The 3.3 oz doesn't last long enough. Should sell 33.8 oz (1 liter) to offer a less expensive price.

not impressed yet
This product soothes the scalp, removes itching, but I do not make my hair thicker or stronger. Perhaps the effect appears when using longer.

Works well with Nioxin shampoo
I like how his product helps improve my hair growth where thinning seems to appear. Seems to work in conjunction with Nioxin shampoo and Scalp therapy conditioner. Mi put on the night before and wash in the morning.

The title is what it says...for hair that is very thin in need of intensive attention.
You have to apply the product twice a day where the thin spots are and massage it in. Hard to style a certain way because the product of course is liquid and leaves hair wet...(i am an african american), that's a little minor problem, that I resolve with my wig or a clip on pony tail or hair piece.
ProsI like that the product do not stink. The product do not have a loud odor...in fact it has a pleasant odor. My family see a difference in my hair. I see a little results. Only been using the product for a week. I hope to see some more results soon..I am so tired of my thin hair. I am tired of wearing wigs. Along with this product, I am using the hair strenghtener creme, pca moisture lotion daily, moisture leave in conditioner and the follicle shampoo. I will recommend, just have to be patient and pray.
ConsI dislike the product not having enough solutions inside the container. I've only been using it for a week and already out. It is too soon to notice anything. The product is too expensive. For this price and small amount , I can go to a beauty store to purchase a/ some follicular hair products. Be merciful with your prices.

Nioxin Follicle Hair Booster is the Best!
It makes my scalp feel healthier and I can tell it is making my hair follicle stronger because my hair has stopped breaking.
Prosit has a nice smell and I do not mind using it everyday.

Just Starting To Use
I have been using the complete Nioxin system for about a month, and purchased this to use also. I apply it at night because it is left on scalp, and can be washed in the morning. Like the other 3 products, it's too soon to notice any improvement on my thinning hair, but I hope with time this will help.

Is Nioxin Follicle Booster the same as Nioxin Hair Booster? Are the ingredients the same in both these producets or is there a difference? Do both these products produce the same results?

Do you have to shampoo, condition, use hair booster and scalp & hair treatment every day? Marlene
No, the hair follicle booster can be used on dry hair in the areas where you have concern. The product doesn't build up, so your normal wash and condition routine will suffice. I used it twice a day and shampooed and conditioned one a week. Hope this is helpful.

You need to use the shampoo and conditioner for sure with the boost. If you wash your hair, use it again. I would suggest starting off using it every night and/or day for the first month. After that, you might could go to every other day, if you already see improvement.

It depends on your hair. I typically wash, condition, and treat my hair every day. However, I found Nioxin products to be somewhat drying, and also a little expensive, so I used them every other day. On the alternating days I used a different product. I still got good results even though I was only using Nioxin every other day. I don't use it any more because I'm on a shoestring budget, but would use it again if I could. Right now I only use the booster on my eyebrows to keep them from thinning.

I try to remember to use this product twice a day, morning and evening. I use it at the temples, and get a bit of an itchy feeling in those areas. My stylist told me it is due to the stimulation and growth occurring and is a good sign.

Shampoo and conditioner are used as often as you wash your hair. Follicle booster is used every evening, scalp renew - once a month (for very oily hair with dandruff may be more often - once every 2 weeks).

If you wash your hair everyday - after shampoo & conditioning. But it is not necessary (wash hair before application of the booster). The follicle booster needs of the application every evening on the scalp (not hair).

I just bought the hair booster and the scalp treatment today. Am confused as to how to use the two products. I understand that the hair booster is to be applied first and not rinsed out - until when? Overnite? Does the hair need to be washed in the morning or do I leave it in? The same questions goes for the scalp treatment, except, do I leave it in or is it to be rinsed out, the same as the conditioner is? Do I have the hair booster and the scalp treatment in my hair at the same time? thank you.
Hello there - I've used Nioxin now for around 14 years. What I do is wash my hair daily using the Nioxin Cleanser and then the conditioner, rinsing well. After I dry my hair (just towel dry, not blow dry), I apply the follicle booster to areas of thin looking hair and leave it sit for a minute or so. After that, I comb it through my hair and apply the scalp treatment. Again, leave it sit for a minute, then comb through and style as usual. Neither the booster nor the treatment need to be washed out. When I remember, I apply an additional few dabs of follicle booster to thin-looking areas right before bed. Hope this helps!

I wash my hair, then apply the follicle booster. Then apply scalp therapy. If you use any Nioxin styling products, apply just before drying. You don't wash out the follicle booster or scalp therapy. I have been using Nioxin for at least 20 years and it does help with the thining of my hair. You are supposed to apply twice a day but I only do it when I wash my hair. If you are really thining, I would use twice a day as instructed. Apply and either let dry naturally or with your hair dryer. Hope this helps.

Both the Hair Booster and scalp treatment are left on your head until your next shampoo. The Products dry after about 30 minutes, and do not leave any detectable residue . I use the Hair booster first, let it dry, then apply the scalp treatment. I am happy with the results-hope they work for you also.

Follicle Booster is a leave-in scalp treatment. You should use it instead Scalp treatment. Or you can use the booster in the evening and the scalp therapy in the morning.

Hi! After using the booster is not necessary to wash your hair. It does not make hair oily or greasy. You should use it every evening for the best results.

my hair is very thin. i cannot wear it alone. i have to get a sew in which of these products is best for me . i need to use s product that will thicken my hair, please help.
I use the nioxin scalp therapy along with the follicle booster. I have seen noticeable growth and filling in around my hairline. It's not an overnight process, but consistent use will definitely yield positive results. I also stay clear of chemical processes as much as possible except for the occasional taming of the grey shrews. I even use it on my eyebrows!

If you continue sewing hair in, it will damage your hair and thre folicle booster wont help much, but nothing will likely. I like this booster with the Nioxin thinning system, which is put on the scalp after washing on wet hair. I use the follicle booster only on my scalp, lightly combed through, and it doesnt have to be washed out in the morning. I wash every other day and use this every night,. I have even seen little hairs sprouting out on my head in areas I didn't have hair, which makes it thicker. Try clip in hsir pieces when you go out, instead of sewing in hair. Hope this helps.

I've been using Nioxin Intensive Therapy Follicle Hair Booster for the last 6 months. I like it a lot. It thickens your hair and it is like foam, so it acts like a gel helping giving shape to your hair style.

I started using Nioxin 4 at the suggestion of my stylist. My hair has noticably thinned in the past few years. Probably not to the point yours seems to be. I used (2) bottles of the Follicle Hair Booster, but quit because I didn't see any results, and thought the cost was too much (bottle is only 1 oz). It seems that the product is best suited to small areas of thinning; I'm not sure it would help in an all-over situation. Also it is leave in, so I would use it only at night, then wash in morning. Like all thinning hair products, results don't come overnite; my stylist told me it would probably take a year or more to see results. Good Luck to you.
