Best Purple Shampoo I have ever Used!
My hair was blonde then I had it dyed dark on top and didn't like it. I have been working my way back to blonde over the last 3 months. I do have my hair professionally done. It was at the gold stage on top. My hair dresser told me it would probably take one more process before it was back really blonde. I have tried many other purple shampoos including the Niassant everyone talks about on Youtube and was not getting the brass out. Then I read about Pravana Pure Light Sulfate Free Brightening Shampoo. So I gave it a try. All the gold/brass is now completely gone and I have a beautiful ashy beige blonde. I couldn't be more happier! I washed my hair first with my regular shampoo then I used the Pravana and left it on my hair for about 5 minutes. My hair is very long so it did leave it pretty tangled but I followed with a good conditioner and it came out beautiful. I don't know if I would need to use it every time I wash my hair so for now I will use it every other time. I have never had a purple shampoo pull the brass gold out of my hair that quick! Love it!

Awesome for blondes
My hair stylist gave me this shampoo to maintain my white blonde hair and combat brassiness during my weeks between coloring appointments. It's absolutely awesome. I've tried other purple shampoos designed for the same purpose and found them to be either weak or excessively drying. Pravana hits the sweet spot and leaves my hair feeling healthy yet noticeably ashier and blonder. I do recommend that on days that this product is used that you follow it up with a deep conditioning treatment of some sort, as with any purple shampoo.

Best shampoo ever!
With this I have acheived the silver hair I wanted with only a few uses. At first I left it on longer since my hair turned unintentionally blonde, but now I only leave it in for the specified time on the bottle. My hair feels healthier too!

Love the way the Shampoo tones my blond
The color in the shampoo definately gets the job done. It isn't a very good lather-but I use it for my white blond streak-that isn't a problem.
ProsSulfate free Keeps white-blond or grey from getting brassy
Consnot very sudsy

Using The 4th Bottle - Love It, Only Sulfate-Free Blue Violet Shampoo I've Found
I started my silver transition March 2010 and since I was already sulfate-free, searched high and low for a sulfate-free blue violet shampoo. This was the only one I could find and having been using it since. I think they changed the formula a bit with the bottle I'm currently using for the better, it feels richer and while it doesn't produce a lot of suds, I mix it a bit with my Sudzzz FX Cashmere shampoo (also carried here at Sleekhair) http://www.sleekhair.com/13401.html, and it feels rich and luxurious - never drying. I use it once a week (my Sunday hair wash) and my hair is silvery and shiny all week. I leave it in while I clarisonic my face and have never had the instance of it being to blue or purple. It's a keeper as far as I'm concerned. p.s. I have tried Clairol Shimmerlights and Redken's blue violet for gray hair and I cringe thinking of the sulfates so no go for me. pps. I have fully transitioned and I get more compliments on my hair than I ever did when I dyed it. I'm very lucky to be a curlygirl and silver ringlets make me happy.
ProsSee above :)
ConsHas been difficult to find so I'm glad Sleekhair carries it.

Wouldn't recomened
I checked out the reviews and saw that it had mixed reviews so I thought I would give it a go anyway. This is way too lilac. The first time I used this I left it on for the full five mins and it made my hair super white with a lilac hue but the yellow tones in my hair were still yellow. The next time I used this I didn't even leave it on for three mins and the same thing happened. I think the solution is to probably mix it with normal shampoo but even then I don't expect it to tone down the yellow. This would only work if you are already super blonde and you wish to be white blonde! I am disappointed because I am a fan of Pravana products.
ProsSmells great
ConsDoesn't do what it says it does Lilac consistency is too high

Can't live without it
My stylist introduced me to this 5 years ago and I noticed a difference after the first use. Friends even asked me if I changed my hair color. It works so well at removing the brassy tones that I really only need to use it a few times a week, especially paired with the conditioner. It's also gentle on dry processed hair. Thank goodness for Sleek Hair and their great prices.
ProsRemoves brassiness Gentle
ConsCan only find in a few salons Salon price is expensive.

This is the only blueing shampoo that is SLs free that I can find. I'm very disappointed that it is out of stock. When will it be available again? Is there a beauty supply house that carries it?

Will this brighten my natural golden blonde hair, or does it only work on bleached blondes?

I am a brunette with gray areas. Can I use this product (Pravana Pure Light Sulfate-Free Brightening Shampoo)? I read that this shampoo has a blue dye which helps brighten blonde, gray and white hair. How will it affect my dark hair?
This shampoo does not give anything for your hair. It is designed for blonde hair and has not enough pigments for dark hair

What are the ingredients in this shampoo? I can only use a completely natural, chemical-free product. Thanks.
The back of the bottle lists: Water, Sodium Lauryl sulfoacetate, Disodium Laureth sulfosuccinate, Sodium Lauroyl sarcosinate, Cocamidopropyl hydroxysultaine, Sodium cocoyl isethionate, Cocamidoproplamine oxide... That is less than half the ingredient list, but I think it answers your question. I don't know if a all-natural blue/purple shampoo exists, but you might look into Aveda blue malva shampoo
