Super dark, too brassy
I mix with the 9NA because for some reason this product does not come in level 8. Went on dark and went brassy too quickly.

Vibrant Red That Lasts!
Great hair color. Smells nice and the coverage is wonderful. This color lasts and does not fade easily. I recommend using the Redken Sulfate Free Color Extend Shampoo also and your color will last even longer. Love it! I have gotten lots of compliments on this color and other people now using it too.
ProsLong lasting color for a red. Does not fade easily!
ConsIf you plan on going lighter (blonde) it will be hard to get this color out of your hair.

I bought the redken eq cream shades in the dark chocolate and mixed with a 20 volume developer ( redken pro oxide) mixed and equal ratio let sit for 40 mins. Rinced it out and discovered my roots did not change . when I mixed the color in the bowl it was a yellowish color and then turned purple . why did my hair not change color !? Terribly frustrated .

I have med brown hair naturally that pulls orange and red. If I use a medium ash brown on it I an usually happy, with a cool medium brown with beige hightlights. I have lots of highlight and grey. I haven't colored in about 5 months, even though I always ask for ash color and state that I want NO orange No red, the past couple of trips(year+) to the salon resulted in orange, brassy, and gold highlights. So my hair is washed out orange brassy gold with grey mixed through the roots. my question is can I add a medium brown ash color or do I need to build in color to get rid of the brass y orange and back to brown? Ant suggestions on product and/or color?

I have been using another semi permenant color Loreal Healthy Look in Sweet Cherry. I really want to move to Redken shades. Is the red tones very visible with Redken Shade "Black Cherry"? I love dark violet reds and I am hoping the "Black Cherry" will deliver this, but it's hard to tell from the photo of the color. Thanks!
The result color depends on your today color and color you wish. You have to choose color level and the color nuance, also developer that will match the color.

I currently use color fusions equal 7BC and 7CR. I would like to use the color EQ shades for the rest of my hair with the EQ gloss developer when only doing roots. I know I used equal parts of 7CB spicestone and another color but cant remember the other. I am thinking it was 7C does that sound right or could you recommend a second color to mix it with?
You can not use EQ gloss developer with Redken Shades EQ Cream Hair Color, you will need a 10 volume Pro-oxide Cream Developer. EQ gloss developer can be used with Redken Shades EQ Color Gloss only.

i am 47 yr old with grey at hair line and i would like to do my own shades eq cream color. medium brunette that can no longer afford the q 3wk $100 salon visit. can you suggest base colors to start with? I was thinking 7g honeycomb for roots and 07wn or 6wm for overall coverage. salon has been adding some light red color occasionally but i am indifferent as to whether or not I continue that
For best coverage of grey hair is using of permanent hair color. You can try this non-permanent color (shadows with the mark N) but you have to realize it can be not covered all grey hair

My friend told me about this product. I have never dyed my hair and have natural blonde streaks. Unfortunately my blondes are beginning to turn gray! I was told that this product would cover only the grays. How does this work an ddo I need another product to mix with it?
Redken Shades EQ Cream Hair Color is non permanent color and gives not very good cover gray hair. But you can try. Obviously it color all your hair, not only gray, the process you describe isn't possible. You'll need mix the color with Redken Cream 20 vol. developer.

I use Cover Fusion 9NG and 20 volume cream developer. I would like to try the EQ Cream in clear to add gloss/more shine. Can I mix Shade EQ Cream (in clear) with the Cover Fusion and is it ok to use 20 volume (I already have) - how imperative to follow guideline of 10 volume cream developer?
you can try to use 20 vol. developer (mix it 50:50 with the water), but there is risk.

I use Redken Cover Fusion 9NG and Redken Pro-oxide 20 volume creme developer. I'd like to use a glossing product, at least the last 5 or 10 minutes of processing. Redken recommends 10 volume for the Shades EQ Cream line - but would it be ok to use this cream with the 20 volume developer I already have?
Cover Fusion is permanent color and 20 vol. developer is needed if you have gray hair or want to make your hair lighter. Redken Shades EQ Cream Hair Color is non permanent color and needs 10 vol. developer.

Hello! I am strawberry blonde color, I want to use Shades EQ once a month to bust some shine and enhace the color....What are the products I need to buy and the order of the procedure. In other words, can you please explain me how do I use it at home? What do I need to mix, which product comes first? THANK YOU!
Well if you just want shine then clear alone is fine. The mixing procedures are 1:1 (equal parts) of Shades EQ Cream and Redken 10-vol Pro-oxide Developer. If you wanted to add a bit of a golden tone to the formula mix 3/4 and 1/4 a level 9 gold color of your choice.
